Sponsorship Opportunities

Sponsor the Programs at IAAW

The Institute for the Advancement of Aboriginal Women is a provincial non-profit organization operating in Alberta. The majority of our funds are received for project specific expenses. Application to become a charity is in process.

Since 2015, we have been fortunate to receive funding from the province of Alberta, through the Indigenous Relations department for operating expenses.

There are many sponsorship opportunities for specific programs or to start a new initiative. Contact Rachelle Venne, CEO at rvenne@iaaw.ca or by calling the office to discuss your idea.

Thank you to ATB Financial for donating one of their retired fleet vehicles to IAAW. It helps a lot when we are transporting supplies for our Esquao Youth Empowerment Camp.

Sponsorship Opportunities for the Esquao Awards Gala

The Esquao Awards are unique in that there is no competition between nominees. The nomination form is distributed widely and is available by calling the IAAW toll-free number or accessing the website. When the community nominates an Indigenous woman and provides three letters of support she is then deemed to be a ‘community champion’ in a certain category and subsequently honoured with an Esquao Award. This policy has worked miraculously to reduce the division between women, recognizing our women as ‘Angels Among Us’.
